MUNI provides dedicated event transportation for ING Bay to Breakers. The MUNI fee for this Special Event Service is $7.00, and can be purchased in one of three ways:

SERVICE DETAILS:
The ING Bay to Breakers Special Event MUNI Service is for sticker holders only. MUNI shuttle service from ING Footstock ends at 2:30 pm. In addition to the event's Express Shuttle Services, your sticker also entitles you to ride on ALL MUNI vehicles from 5:30 am to 5:00 pm on Race Day.

Bauer's Eco Friendly Shuttle Service
Bauer's Intelligent Transportation, a proud sponsor of ING Bay to Breakers, offers race attendees the opportunity to ride their Eco Friendly Executive Shuttle Service. Bauer's IT will be providing a convenient, fast, and fun shuttling experience to six popular San Francisco districts.
Bauer's Transportation will be staging their famous fleet of executive shuttles at 34th Avenue and Fulton Street. Onsite Event Staff will help direct you to the appropriate shuttle
that will transport you to your desired destination point.

Alameda/Oakland Ferry

The Alameda/Oakland Ferry will provide early morning service for the Sunday, May 18, ING Bay To Breakers 12K in San Francisco. The special service leaves Oakland’s Jack London Square at 6:45 a.m. for Alameda’s Main Street Ferry Terminal. It will leave Alameda at 7:00 a.m., and arrive at the San Francisco Ferry Building at 7:25 a.m. Return departures to Alameda and Oakland leave from the San Francisco Ferry Building at 1:25 p.m., 5:10 p.m., 6:45 p.m., 8:25 p.m., and 9:55 p.m.
The Oakland Ferry Terminal is located at 530 Water Street, near the intersection of Clay Street and the Embarcadero, Jack London Square. Free parking is available at 101 Washington Street. The Alameda Ferry Terminal is located at 2990 Main Street, and free parking is available adjacent to the terminal. Tickets are purchased onboard the ferry. One-way fares are: adults, $6.00; juniors ages 5 to 12 years old, $3.25; seniors and disabled persons, $3.50; and children under 5 years old, free.

All stations will be open at 6 am, running 15 - 20 minutes apart thereafter, until regular service begins at 8:00 am.

Caltrain will provide a special northbound train departing from the San Jose Diridon station at 6:17 a.m., making all weekend stops until Redwood City. It will then stop at Hillsdale and Millbrae before expressing to the San Francisco station, arriving at 7:30 a.m.
A second special train will depart at 6:24 a.m. from California Avenue station, making all local stops until San Bruno, then expressing to San Francisco station, arriving at 7:25 a.m.
After arriving in San Francisco, participants can either walk to the starting line (1.4 miles) or take the Muni light rail located next to Caltrain.
Trains depart the San Francisco station on Sundays each hour on the hour until 9 p.m. Caltrain fares vary by zone. Tickets must be purchased before boarding from Caltrain Ticket Vending Machines.

Charter buses must park along Sunset Boulevard south of Irving parallel to Sunset Boulevard. Buses must park in the curb lane, leaving the intersection clear. In case of emergency, the San Francisco Police Department requires that drivers remain with the buses while they are parked. No picnics or barbecues allowed.

Hit the road and miss the traffic and parking hassles by taking SamTrans’ express bus service to the ING Bay to Breakers on race day. SamTrans will take you to the Bay (Second and Folsom streets) bright and early, and then pick you up near the Breakers (Sunset Boulevard) after the race.
Five express bus routes will serve the Peninsula. The bus locations are: Palo Alto Transit Center, San Carlos Caltrain station, 101/92 Park & Ride, Millbrae BART and San Bruno BART. All buses will arrive at Second and Folsom streets (about six blocks southwest of the starting line) by 7:10 a.m. to drop off runners. Buses will then continue to Sunset Boulevard to drop off spectators by 7:40 a.m. After the race, buses will depart from Sunset Boulevard (between Irving and Judah streets), beginning at 10 a.m. or when full. The last bus will depart Sunset Boulevard at 1:30 p.m. (after the ING Footstock concert).
A "Participants' Bus" will be available to hold extra clothes and food during the race (no valuables please). SamTrans is not responsible for any articles left on the bus.
The fare is $4 each way or pay $8 for your round trip and you will be given a sticker which will be used as your return ticket. Note: Bus operator cannot make change, so use exact change to pay your fare. For group reservations for parties of 10 or more, please call 650-508-6292 by May 9. Departure
The Vallejo ferry departs from the Vallejo terminal located at 495 Mare Island Way at 6:30 am and arrives at San Francisco's Ferry Building at 7:30 am. This is a special service on Race Day.
Return
The return ferry will maintain its regular schedule of weekend return stops to Vallejo from Pier 41 and the Ferry Building. Call for departure times.
