Breathe California/ING Bay to Breakers 12K Pledge Program

Celebrating over 100 years of service in the Bay Area, Breathe California is proud to be the beneficiary of the 2009 ING Bay to Breakers Pledge Program. As a pledge runner, you can make a difference in the lives of those suffering from lung disease by helping raise money for Breathe California’s numerous health programs and services.

The first 200 fundraisers that raise at least $250 will receive a FREE race registration and guaranteed spot in a preferred start location right behind the race’s seeded runners and ahead of the rest of the pack.  As a member of the Breathe California pledge team, these runners will receive an official race packet as well as an exclusive Breathe California “wickable” running shirt to wear on race day.

AS AN ADDED BONUS, The top Fundraiser will win TWO FREE ROUND-TRIP TICKETS ON SOUTHWEST AIRLINES (good for travel anywhere in the continental United States). Breathe California is also offering a number of incentive prizes for pledge runners who go above and beyond in their fundraising:

$250+        Exclusive Breathe California “Wickable” Running Shirt

$350+        Everything in the $250 level, plus $20 Sports Authority Gift Card (merchant subject to change based on availability)

$500+        Everything in the $250 & $350 levels, plus “Moisture-wicking” Running Cap

$750+        Everything in the $250, $350, & $500 levels, plus $40 Sports Authority Gift Card (merchant subject to change based on availability)

$1000+        Everything in the $250, $350, $500, & $750 levels, plus Breathe California Fleece Vest

We will also have a number of prize drawings for different fundraising levels as well as special thank-you gifts for those who raise at least $100.

Please note that ING Bay to Breakers 12K race registration is not included for persons who are not among the first 200 fundraisers to raise $250. Such individuals will need to register separately for the race.

Pledge Program Registration Instructions

• Visit Breathe California’s special Bay to Breakers Pledge Program website to register as a pledge runner. (DO NOT register on the ING Bay to Breakers website)

• There, you can set up a personal fundraising page, and collect/track online donations.  You can also download a paper registration/fundraising form to track cash and check donations.

• Preferred start spots will be distributed on a first come/first served basis. A minimum of $250 in donations must be received online and/or at our Daly City office before your preferred spot will be reserved (while spots remain available). Cash and checks should be sent (along with a downloaded paper form) to:

Donations received after May 7th will not apply for preferred spots. However, money raised through May 30th will qualify you for incentive prizes.

• You will be notified via e-mail when your preferred start spot is reserved.  Race packets will be mailed out along with a Breathe California “wickable” running shirt in early May. You will not be able to pick up your packet on race day.
• Donations are not refundable.  Breathe California is a 501c(3) non-profit organization and all contributions made to the agency are tax-deductible.
